Oh, friends, do I have something special to share with you today! As a true Midwestern gal, born and raised, there’s nothing that warms my heart quite like the memory of a bustling kitchen, the scent of flour and sugar in the air, and the comforting presence of my grandmothers.

Those were the days, weren’t they? Flipping through well-loved cookbooks, their pages stained with years of delicious spills, and feeling the sheer joy of helping them create something truly magical with our hands. And let me tell you, you could taste the love in every single cookie and pie they pulled from the oven.

That feeling, that wonderful, cozy, nostalgic feeling, is exactly what we’re bringing to life with For Goodness Bakes!, my new woman-owned business right here in Minneapolis. It’s built on that very foundation: warmth, nostalgia, and the simple joy of home baking.

Here at For Goodness Bakes!, we believe that baking isn’t just about ingredients and measurements; it’s about making memories. And that’s why we’ve put together something truly unique to help you do just that.

Each of our gift sets is a unique treasure designed to inspire your next baking adventure. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to start creating your own delicious stories:

• Upcycled Cookbooks: These aren’t just any cookbooks, folks. I personally source each one, focusing on those wonderful brands made famous by the flour mill companies right here in Minneapolis – our very own Mill City! I also hunt for the same kinds of cookbooks I saw gracing the kitchens of my own grandmothers back in Charles City, Iowa. There’s such history and heart in those pages!
• Vintage-Inspired Aprons: Oh, you are going to adore these! Each one-of-a-kind apron is lovingly made by my amazing mother, Jackie Vickerman. She’s been hand-crafting beautiful things for as long as I can remember, taught to sew, cook, and bake by her own mother and grandmothers. Trust me, she made feel like a million bucks in all of my one-of-a-kind prom dresses and recital gowns in the ’90s, and her holiday candy and cookie trays are legendary – better than any sugar plums dancing in your head!
• Essential Baking Utensils: We believe every home baker needs the right tools for the job. That’s why every gift set includes two of our favorites: a Danish dough whisk and a sturdy wooden spoon. These are tried-and-true essentials that will serve you well for years to come.
• Premium Gift Sets: A good mixing bowl is something every home baker needs, especially if you are not using a stand mixer. That’s why we thrift mixing bowls and pie plates (Pyrex anyone?) for our premium gift sets.
