Hey there! I’m Jennifer, the brains behind For Goodness Bakes!, your new favorite spot for locally-curated baking gifts sets. I’m all about spreading joy through thrifting, creating, and sourcing gifts sets inspired by spending time in the kitchen with my grandmothers. Those memories are dear to me, and that’s why I started this venture—to bring back those baking memories for you and inspire you to make new ones.

Here at For Goodness Bakes!, our gift sets include the basics of what you need to bake up a memory. Each set contains an upcycled cookbook, a handmade vintage-inspired apron, and a special pair of baking utensils. Our premium gift sets include an upcycled mixing bowl.

I personally source our upcycled cookbooks and mixing bowls. My treasure hunts are focused on brands of cookbooks made famous by the flour mill companies of Minneapolis (a.k.a. Mill City) as well others that are considered important part of the baking cookbook canon in the 20th century. As often as possible, I thrift in the Twin Cities or on road trips back to visit family in Iowa.

Some of our aprons are thrifted. The rest are lovingly made by my mother, Jackie Vickerman. She has hand-crafted creations for as long as she can remember. Her mother and grandmothers taught her to sew, cook, and bake. Jackie is known for her fabulous baby sleepers, memory quilts, and special homemade treat trays at holiday time.

Here at For Goodness Bakes!, our two favorite mixing tools are the Danish dough whisk and a sturdy wooden spoon. We include these in every gift set we curate.

Finally, each baking gift set comes with two recipes from the family of For Goodness Bakes! and a QR code that takes you to a page where you can share your baking memories with the community.

It is my joy to help you make new baking memories and remember those of days gone by.
